Original half calf with new spine. 13 x 18in
The author was a chaplain with the British navy at the time of the occurrence of the events described. Rare. Fine aquatint views of Martinique and Guadeloupe.

Much on the emancipation of the slaves in Guadeloupe and other French colonies in the Caribbean but also considers the effects in the English and Dutch islands.
