The Dogger Bank incident (also known as the North Sea Incident, the Russian Outrage or the Incident of Hull) occurred on the night of 21-22 October 1904, when the Russian Baltic Fleet mistook some British trawlers forJapanese Naval torpedo boats and fired on them.

Much alcoholic drink had been given to the voters and the commissioners extensively interviewed local people and their testimony is faithfully recorded. The Green Dragon, the Elephant and the Harts Horns feature. A fascinating read.
