Set of composite artists proofs with hand painting for the 1976 souvenir stamp issue. Each 5.5 x 7.5" (6)
The stamps feature the medal for the St Vincent Black Corps and the miniature sheet also features a soldier from the Corps. The others show soldiers from the different British regiments that took part in the war. A fine exhibition item.

A Private of the 5th West India Regiment From, Costumes of the Army of the British Empire, According to the Latest Regulations 1812 ' by Charles Hamilton Smith, published by Colnaghi 1815 Hand coloured aquatint on 'J. Whatman 1811' watermarked paper. Fine with full margins. 10 x 12.5" The 5th West India regiment was formed in 1797 and was with Packenham at New Orleans in 1815. Disbanded in 1817 it was reformed in 1863 and again disbanded in 1865. Very scarce.
